Anya: Crawling and laughing

Anya at 18 months old. Anya's favorite word is NO!! She loves to play with Nevin and they get along famously (in half hour increments!)

Anya is 7 months old. She has recently started crawling and is all over the living room now. We recently put up the Christmas tree and she has already managed to pull 3 of the ornaments off of it while we were not looking.

Anya's temperament is very even keel. She has been a very easy baby so far (touch wood) and she does everything a baby is supposed to do without a lot of fuss; eat, burp, sleep, poop, ...repeat. She seems to have a taken a keen interest to all kinds of solid food and we have to keep a close watch on what she is putting in her mouth :) Nevin is doing really well with her and he cares for her a lot. He always runs to her room the moment he hears her cry on the monitor. He does not like sharing his toys with her as much and only wants to give her the stuff he does not care for too much!

Here are a couple of videos of Anya.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Click for pictures

I made roasted rack of lamb for dinner last night. The two racks were marinated for a few hours in a mixture of Pinot Noir, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and some vinegar. The racks were then coated with a dry rub made from coriander, salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, cinnamon, cloves, all spice and sugar. I pan seared the racks for about 2 minutes on each side on high heat and then roasted it in the oven at 350 F for about 12 minutes for a medium finish.

I added the remaining marinade to the drippings and reduced it to a glaze which went very nicely over the lamb.
